- YOUTH LEADERSHIP -
An Imbizo is a meeting or a gathering of people. Usually to discuss or talk about something specific.
At our Youth Leadership Imbizo we aim to motivate, encourage and inspire youth. To make them realise that the future lies in their hands. Hard work, dedication, sacrifice and success goes hand in hand.
We need to assist youth to make a success of their lives.
Different themes that we focus on at Youth Leadership Imbizos are:
- Ideas into action
- Sacrifice and success
- Good leadership, self motivation, finance (how to do budgets)
- Life skills and your future
- Healthy living
- Anti-bullying
- Your community and volunteer programs
- Looking after the environment
- Career preparedness workshops
- CV and interview training
- Tertiary education options, applications, finance, studying online or through correspondence
- Been a good leader in your family, school and community
We always incorporate some form of sporting and community upliftment project. It keeps kids health and active. The community projects instils that sense of ownership and pride for their community and the kids quickly realise how important it is to do good and not to expect anything in return.
- BEAUTIFUL COMMUNITY -
- Working in Joe Slovo Park and Du Noon to assist people in need
- Applying the “There is no such thing as a free handout” principle by getting people to give back in the same way that they have received
- Community cleanups
- #Winterwarmer blanket and clothes collection drives. Over 1000 blankets collected and handed out. Included in the blanket “handouts” are plastic bags for people to cleanup rubbish around their house and in the community
