This is going to be the run of your life
Families. Kids. Everyone welcome
Finish with 3 pieces of litter (any size (BIG or small)) and your medal will be a pack of recycling bags
All beach runs are planned around low tide – so you are running on hard compact beach sand
Is it tough? Look princess…Was anything EVER worth doing, ever easy?
Can you run with shoes or barefoot? 100% your decision. Most people run with tekkies but loads run barefoot.
Our slogan – no shoes, no shirt, no problem…So you’ve been missing those Parkruns – time to take it up a level. Do the 8km or (calling all big guns) push it on the 15 or 21km
Come get your Discovery 10 000 steps or heart rate/time points.
ON THE DAY ENTRIES are limited to 100 people and cost R200
The route – starts on the beautiful Blouberg Beach – head towards Milnerton, then back and finish where you started.
Its an out and back run – so 360 degree (spectacular views). Start and finish at the same point.
There will be water along the route but you will need to run with a bottle or camelback/hydration pack as we will NOT have cups or sachets on the route.
There will be 2 water points on the 15 & 21km
The route is pram “push-able” but you will more than likely need a pram with the bigger wheels.
Are dogs welcome – of course – but on a leash! Bring some water along for Fido and a poo bag…if he poops – you scoops.
21km at 8am
15km at 8:30am
8km at 9am
3km at 9:30am
Lucky Draws at 10:45am
So my entry fee – what is that been used for?
The Inland Beach Cleanup project is a project where we enable schools in the Cape Flats areas to learn about and do recycling collections at their schools (and to earn money for it). Our recycling partner, Kerby collects recycling in the areas and your entry fee will be used to buy 100 recycling bags and given to the kids and they are asked to fill it with plastic bottles specifically. Our goal is to divert over 50 tons of plastic from our already choked up landfills. If we can give out 20 000 bags – and each bag comes back with 35 plastic bottles in them – that will be our goal of 50 tons smashed.
But then we going to run that again, and again.
We want to make a noise about climate change and educate, motivate and communicate what we can do as citizens to help and make a positive difference
