All beach runs are planned around low tide – so you are running on hard compact beach sand
Is it tough? Princess – Was anything EVER worth doing, ever easy?
Can you run with shoes or barefoot? 100% your decision. Most people run with tekkies but loads run barefoot.
Our slogan – no shoes, no shirt, no problem…
ON THE DAY ENTRIES are limited to 20 people and cost R150
Loads of safe parking – we will have some car guards looking after the cars…spot them a fiver when you done.
Registration at Tigers Milk Bloubergstrand – kinda above Ocean Basket, next to News Cafe
The route – starts in front of the Tigers Milk
Its an out and back run – so 360 degree (spectacular views). Start and finish at the same point.
There will NOT be water along the route. Its a short run so can run with a bottle or camelback/hydration pack. We will NOT have cups or sachets on the route.
The route is pram “push-able” if you stick to the road.
Are dogs welcome – of course – but on a leash! Bring some water along for Fido and don’t forget a poo bag…if he poops – you scoops.
Are headlamps required…ag you can decide if you want to wear one or not. They not compulsory. Again – watch a kids face light up when you give them a headlamp.
What happens if the weather is foul? The run will go ahead 100%. You can decide if you wanna hang around in Tigers Milk if you dont want to run in the rain or wind.
We have 10 raffle tickets available to win a case of beer, 4 bottles of wine and a beach cleanup T shirt (value R1200)
So my entry fee – what is that been used for?
Look – we know what the problem is. We now need to do something about it – especially inland. Tackling the problem at the source. We are opening an Environmental & Skills Development Centre in Killarney Gardens to do training with people from Joe Slovo Park and Dunoon.
